Mike White Ford at Car d’Lane: 2023 Recap
Mike White Ford was once again the main sponsor of Car d’Lane, North Idaho’s premier classic car cruise and show that takes place every summer in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. This is the 33rd year of this annual show, and every year the show seems to get bigger and better, with people coming from all over the country to show off their vintage vehicles and share their love of cars. As always, this year’s Car d’Lane provided a feast for the eyes – and ears! – as classic car owners who have lovingly preserved or restored their vehicles came to downtown Coeur d’Alene.
The show’s premise is simple: people who want to show off their cars pay a small fee to participate in the cruise, show, or both. To spectators, the show is entirely free. The cruise occurs the first evening, as cars parade down Coeur d’Alene’s main road, Sherman Avenue, while spectators line the street. The next day, you will find classic cars parked all along the downtown streets and in front of the Coeur d’Alene Resort, giving people ample time to “ooh” and “aah” at the impressive line-up, often getting an opportunity to chat with the car owners and get a peek under the hoods.
This year’s Car d’Lane started with a three-hour cruise starting at 6:00 pm on the evening of Friday, June 16th, and, as the main sponsor, Mike White Ford had the honor of leading the parade. We also set up a booth on show day, which ran on Saturday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Because it was Father’s Day weekend (a standard for the Car d’Lane show), the show was especially festive for all the gearhead dads.
We want to thank the hundreds of visitors who came by our booth to check out our vintage cars and some of our newer offerings, including the new Bronco and our F-150 lightning, which powered up our video display. We are always thrilled to be part of the show, and we had a lot of fun with giveaways and merch for all the Ford fans out there. We were especially proud to see all the classic Ford Mustangs that car enthusiasts drove in to show off at this year’s Car d’Lane.
Families and fans came from near and far to enjoy the cars, the sunshine, and the great amenities of downtown Coeur d’Alene for the weekend. Along with the classic cars, Coeur d’Alene has much to offer: McEuen Park, the beach, Tubbs Hill, and feasting at some great local eateries. Car d’Lane is a great occasion to enjoy this inland northwest playground and one more reason Mike White Ford loves northern Idaho.
Mike White: Coeur d’Alene’s Ford Guy!
Mike White Ford is proud to sponsor Car d’Lane. After all, Ford has a legacy of producing a good portion of America’s classic cars, from the Model T to the 1969 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang Cobra. Car d’Lane and Mike White Ford, a family-owned and operated dealership with showrooms in Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint, are a natural fit. They both help build a strong sense of community, with love for all the unique attributes that make Coeur d’Alene the sparkling gem it is.
If you did not attend this year’s Car d’Lane, we’re sorry we missed you. We hope you’ll make plans to come next year – you won’t be disappointed! In the meantime, visit Mike White Ford to find a new vehicle, or feel free to drop in just to talk cars! We’d love to see you.
